Bob has served DuPage County for more than 9 years, the last couple as Finance Committee Chairman. With your help, he can continue to serve the community with the same passion as when he has served the Country in the Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve for over 20 years.
Bob has a beautiful wife, a wonderful family. He has always answered the call to service both to the county and the country. Bob joined the Marine Corps and went into service right out of law school. Bob was blessed to have his family pay for his schooling and did not collect that benefit for his military service. He served simply because he wanted to serve.
After a tour of active duty, he continued to serve in the Reserves, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before retiring in 2011. “Serving my Country in the Marine Corps was the greatest honor of my life. The Marines are a remarkable group of men and women from all races, religions, and walks of life. My service with these heroes, most far better than me, has guided my life’s journey.”
Once he concluded his service with the Marine Corps, he wanted to find another way to serve the community and was elected to the DuPage County Board. There, as with the Marine Corps, his focus has been on service to others, not to self. He refused to take the generous pension that was offered for this part-time position or to take the health care benefits. He took on the additional duties of serving first as Chairman of Health and Human Services, and then as Chair of the Finance Committee, along with serving on the DuPage Board of Health.
